How Did you get involved in Roller Derby? A friend of a friend found a flyer for tryouts. I liked her enough to join in with her (and offer protection. The tryout was in a random building in Ceres).
How did you choose your skate name? I liked the idea of doing something with my real name. And my old supervisor supplies the “Slam Bam”. Since I’m a big fan of falling on the ground, I figured it was appropriate.

Gear: I wear Reidell 265 boots with Avenger magnesium plates. I have been wearing the same set of Atom Booms since 2013. I don’t change wheels for different surfaces, I adjust my footwork when needed.

How Did you get involved in Roller Derby? Tried out with the Sac City Rollers in June of 2008.
How did you choose your skate name? My name is Mazel Tough Cocktail. It is a cute play on words that combines some of my cultural background. I go by Cocktail because who doesn’t love a good cocktail? 200 used to be 200 Proof when you could have letters as part of your number. I have had other names as well depending upon the team. They include, Mexilente, JewSea, and Pussy Galore.
Pre-Derby Sport background: From ages 4-9 I was training as an artistic skater. Figures was where I did the best. I wasn’t especially athletic otherwise.
